    Key Technologies and Selection Points

     

     

    Material Classification:

    *Steel: Currently the mainstream in the industry, it is rigid and highly precise. Modern high-end steel blades, through optimizing carbide distribution, produce fine powder rather than debris after wear, effectively protecting the expensive anilox roller.

    *Composite/plastic: It is softer and less harmful to the anilox roller, often used as the **containment blade ** in sealed chambers, but its ink layer control is inferior to steel blades in extremely high-precision printing.

    Core Process

     

    Coating technology

    High-end steel knives are coated with multiple layers of coatings (such as nickel-phosphorus/ceramic composite) to reduce the friction coefficient and prevent corrosion. This is particularly crucial for printing with white ink (high abrasiveness) or water-based ink (strong corrosivity).

    Edge processing

    A thin blade can achieve more precise control, but if the contact angle is incorrect (typically around 35 degrees), it may instead cause hydraulic lifting or incomplete scraping.

    Common Faults

     

    Anilox roller scratch

    It is usually caused by selecting the wrong knife (such as a plastic knife embedded in a ceramic hole) or improper pressure and angle settings.

    UV ink flying

    This is caused by high ink viscosity. A special blade with a thicker base (such as MDC One-Step) can be used to reduce blade vibration and solve the problem

     

    Practical Application Suggestions

     

    Water-based/UV ink

    Special attention should be paid to corrosion prevention, and it is recommended to use high-performance coating knives.

    High-wear ink

    White ink or ink with high titanium dioxide content has strong wear resistance, so it is essential to use long-lasting special alloy blades.

    High-speed printing

    Requires steel with sufficient rigidity to prevent the "hydraulic lift" phenomenon
