A Detailed Explanation Of How Embossing Rollers Are Made

Apr 14, 2026

Embossing rollers are a common type of roller product. They have a wide range of applications, suitable for creating textured surfaces on plastic sheets, films, aluminum foil, leather, and rigid boards, improving the aesthetic appeal of products, enhancing anti-counterfeiting measures, and protecting trademarks.

Heating steel to a certain temperature and holding it for a period of time, then slowly cooling it, is called annealing.

Annealing steel is a heat treatment method that involves heating steel to a temperature that causes a phase transformation or partial phase transformation, holding it at that temperature, and then slowly cooling it. The purpose of annealing is to eliminate structural defects, improve the structure, homogenize the composition, refine the grains, improve the mechanical properties of the steel, and reduce residual stress; at the same time, it can reduce hardness, improve plasticity and toughness, and improve machinability.

Tempering steel that has already been quenched is reheated to a certain temperature and then cooled using a specific method. Its purpose is to eliminate the internal stress generated during quenching, reduce hardness and brittleness, and obtain the desired mechanical properties. Tempering is divided into three categories: high-temperature tempering, medium-temperature tempering, and low-temperature tempering. Tempering is often used in conjunction with quenching and normalizing.

Temperature treatment: The heat treatment method of high-temperature tempering after quenching is called tempering. High-temperature tempering refers to tempering between 500-650℃. Tempering can greatly adjust the properties and raw materials of steel, resulting in better strength, plasticity, and toughness, and excellent comprehensive mechanical properties.
